According to a recent Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (AWC) with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Jonathan Belden, a former registered broker with Merrill Lynch, has violated securities laws. Allegedly, Mr. Belden effected approximately 200 securities transactions in seven customer accounts without written discretionary authority from the customers and without his firm’s knowledge. This is in violation of FINRA rules and securities laws. On four occasions, between April 21st and 26th, 2017, Belden mismarked order tickets for trades as unsolicited, when, in fact, he solicited them. For this misconduct, he was fined $10,000 and suspended from the industry for sixty calendar days.

Jonathan Russell Belden was previously registered with Merrill Lynch in Oakland, California from May 2014 until July 2017. He is not currently registered as a broker within the industry, according to his online, public BrokerCheck report with FINRA.
